Have you ever heard of a place called Someday Isle?  Most people have heard of it, but few have ever really been there.

Some day i will be rich…
Some day i will be thin…
Some day i will change to a better work…

Sales … opportunity or threat?

Most people feel certain uneasiness in front of the salesperson.
Most believe that a salesperson must be opinionated and always put a foot in the door opening!

Sure, you have to be stubborn, but why do that 8 of 10 salesperson does?
It really is them eight salesperson that provide sales bad reputation!

I dislike to say the word trick, since it can easily be misinterpreted.
sales is, and remains, a clean feeling that can be develop over time.

Dealing with different signals and the response from our fellow human beings!
Absolutely no hocus pokus that only some can learn!

But you may need a boost in the right direction; many of us are completely
terrified at the thought to get into an office with a new product/service.

But there are ways to move closer to the customers without having to work to “much”
In an attempt by telephone, you should listen carefully to how the person responds to you;
unfortunately most people have to overcome their nervousness and are not open for signals
from the purchaser (buyer).

If the purchaser does not have the time or seems busy, be quick and ask if you
can call later and tell that you are aware that you disturb when you call, but you would like to
come back later.

In my experience you can come back about 3-4 times in a month,
after 2-3 times (if the purchaser is really busy) you will
bring a certain kind of sympathy with the purchaser so that she/he could
“Squeeze” you in somewhere.

But of course there are purchasers who denies visit all the time!
Existing customers also requires a certain touch,  you can try to build a relationship on the fact that you always are at hand, with personal letters for Christmas greeting and summer greetings.

I usually post about 4-5 times per year by well-chosen occasions, in
this way you build a presence feeling of the customer without need to do personal visits!

In this way, you can build a relationship which constantly reminds
the customer that you are there for her/him but does not interfere unnecessarily!

You can fill up with a personal visit when its time.

Add a lot of time trying to get the customer to understand how much you appreciate
him/her as a customer.

And that you are available at the customer’s terms and not yours!

TO GET THE CUSTOMERS TO BUY FROM YOU, IS WORTH MUCH MORE THAN
THAT YOU HAVE SOLD TO THE CUSTOMER!

Attitude always win over knowledge

For each new contact I do, I can clearly see that this is the case.
We have had vacation on the company and before and after it is always a little extra to do.

Some of the staff make the best of the situation and say
“We do try and make the best of it”

Other complain over lot of work …
Imagine the midst of a raging financial crisis!

Back to attitude, who do you think companies employ?

McDonalds is a good value

The other day I visited McDonalds for lunch and it was very crowded at that time.

There was some 8-10 members of staff at the time …

Whats fascinating me the most was that of those 8-10 persons it was 3 that made it float better.

Some are always new, or do not have quite as much experience but you can see a difference
between different employees.

Remember this the next time you are on a fast food restaurant.

McDonalds should recruit people to other companies too,
so good school, it is!

There was a time when the strategy of sales was to tire out the customer with various tricks!

You may sometimes hear older salesperson (or younger with the wrong attitude) say “It was better before because you knew where you had the purchasers’

That my friends, is to reduce the levels of customer intelligence…

Managers and purchasers who do not see these signals will be fewer and fewer, and a whole new
generation will take on.

Salesperson who live on in the past will be eliminated!

This section, I write only to give those who feel insecure verbal a little boost.

The future lies with those who can see what to do and perform it for their customers in a humble way!

Over the years I have followed some people who gave me a pretty good help.
Lee Iacocca ( Ford Mustang )       Sir Richard Branson     Famous Entrepreneur advice

I think that we should try to study why some people are more successful than others.

Hard work is not something everyone wants to get involved with, but the fact remains
that there are few shortcuts to success.

Unfortunately, many hopes on the big profit in a lottery.
Read more about persons who managed to succeed instead!

No perfect English

I write no perfect English, but everyone understands what I mean and that is the whole point of serving English-speaking people in an English version of my writings ( Swedish is my language )

Last but not least, practice makes…

One thing that may seem insignificant is also quick follow-up, but there is nothing that impresses as much as when a company submits an offer or a reply by return mail…

For me it is purely frightening to hear how some companies deal with this thing, to my great surprise, I often here answers like “we are still waiting for a response from two companies’ after 3-4 days!

In the case of rejection, and missed businesses, show the customer how sorry you are that you not get the joy of a new business opportunity just with him/her.

Be almost gladder with a rejection than if you sold something to the customer! It can be difficult, I know.. but as I said, patience produce results sooner or later.

If we show that we care, we will hopefully
have proved that we are worthy to help the customer later on!

There are many good salespersons that work well when everything is fine, but are bad at dealing with problems and complaints.
Helping a client with problems, and then solve it gets a picture of your capacity for more business in the future.

When customer relationships last

Is it really your own short term profit or long business relationship that matters?

Probably the best thing you can do yourself is to always negotiate “soft”.

With “soft” I mean that things have to take time …
Many businesses tend to go waste just because of lack of patience; it actually happens that I may do business several years later than when I have made a visit!

Not so long ago I got a phone call from North where I
visited a company in May 1998, the customer was not especially large but the client thought we seemed nice when we sent letters with Christmas message and holiday to a company that not had bought for a single cent!
